Description
The year is 2347. Earth is a whisper, a hazy memory transmitted through fractured satellite links. We escaped, or rather, we were forced to. The Collapse, they called it. A chain reaction of ecological disasters culminating in… well, let's just say Earth isn't doing so well anymore.
We found refuge in Kepler-186f, dubbed 'New Eden' by the first wave of colonists. Lush, vibrant, seemingly untouched. A paradise. For a while.
Now, the paradise is rotting. Not from ecological catastrophe, but from something far more insidious: the Whisper. It started subtly. Technological glitches, machinery malfunctioning with no logical explanation. Then, the whispers began in the minds of the colonists, barely audible at first. Hints of forgotten languages, unsettling visions, a creeping sense of dread.
The United Colonial Authority, or UCA, pretends everything is under control. They quarantine infected zones, issue sterile reports, and bury the truth deeper and deeper. But the truth claws its way out. The Whisper is spreading, twisting minds, corrupting technology, and awakening something… ancient.
You are Elara Vance. A scavenger, a mechanic, a survivor. You've managed to evade UCA scrutiny, carving out a precarious existence in the fringe settlements. You're good with tech, resourceful, and you've learned to trust no one. Especially not the UCA.
You've been hearing the Whisper for months. At first, you dismissed it as stress, the weight of survival. But it's growing louder, more insistent. You've started seeing things, impossible geometries woven into the landscape, phantom structures shimmering just beyond your perception.
Then, the signal arrives. A coded message, faint but clear, promising answers. It speaks of a hidden truth, a way to understand the Whisper and perhaps, even control it. But reaching the signal's source means venturing into the most heavily quarantined zone on New Eden, a place where the Whisper reigns supreme, and the UCA's grip is absolute.
Do you risk everything for answers, or cling to your fragile survival in the shadows? The choice is yours. Welcome to New Eden. Good luck. You'll need it.
